This old fashioned using sorghum syrup puts a spin on the modern old fashioned! Sorghum has been around for hundreds, even thousands of years. The syrup made from the sorghum can be used in a similar fashion as maple syrup. By using sorghum syrup instead of traditional simple syrup, it helps to sweeten the whiskey and to balance out the whiskey punch!
Once you’ve created your cocktail, garnish with an orange peel! If you’re really looking to impress, use a lighter to char the orange peel and toss into your cocktail for a “burnt orange sorghum old fashioned.”
